Addilyn's 18-Month Heirloom Portraits
Photos by Courtney Malone Photography
If there is anything that I will ALWAYS prioritize investing in, it’s professional family photos. Family photos, maternity photos, newborn photos, classic heirloom portraits (like this session!) — I will gladly pay for it. There have been seasons where we’ve had to save, sell things on FB marketplace, or move money around to make it work. But it has ALWAYS been worth it!
Can I take photos myself? Absolutely. And if you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you know I take plenty. 😉 But having another photographer capture photos for us — documenting each season, and giving me a chance to be in the photo — is just priceless.
From the second I held Addilyn on the day she was born, I became keenly aware of how quickly the moments would pass. Especially in these little years, the days seem to blur together. Each morning snuggle, messy snack, and bedtime story brings a reminder of how quickly everything changes. A reminder that these moments are fleeting + sacred. These photos help us never struggle to remember just how precious these days are!
But these photographs are more than just a way to remember... they are a way to tell our babies their own family story. To preserve our family legacy. The same way I dig through boxes + boxes of photos from my childhood (and my parents childhood!) to piece together parts of my story, we know our children (and their children!) will look back on these photos for years to come!
